Sewer Problems? Call MSD First!
When a MSD customer has sewer problems, the resident should first contact the MSD. MSD will dispatch a crew to check the main sewer. If there is a cleanout at the public right-of-way, MSD will also inspect the cleanout to determine the location of the blockage in the service line. MSD will clean the stoppage if it is in the main MSD sewer line or the portion of the service line in the public right of way. If the stoppage is in the private property section of the service line, District personnel will notify the owner and advise if a plumber should be called.

Don’t suffer during the dry months. Here’s how to put the moisture back into your home, and your body:
During these dry months of winter consider using a humidifier. Running a humidifier in your home/office will add moisture to dry, heated air. The moistened air will help keep your skin, mouth, and nose hydrated, and helps prevent those nasty static shocks. Ideally, aim for a comfortable winter humidity level of between 30% and 50%. Don’t turn up the humidifier higher than that, though, or you could develop another problem — mold, fungi, dust mites, and other tiny critters. Also keep your humidifier clean so that it doesn’t send dust and germs discharging into your house.

Understanding Water Damage
If you have experienced some sort of water intrusion in your home or office, it is critical that you begin the clean up process as quickly as possible. Water damage can be deceptive. Water penetrates into structural cavities creating trapped pockets of saturation.
The detection of water in these areas can often only be discovered with sophisticated
moisture detection meters and thermography.
Undetected moisture will continue to cause damage.
This damage, at a minimum, will cause odors. Greater damage will surface when materials delaminate, shrink, split and further deteriorate to where costly repairs are required.
More than just removing excess water, cleantrust-certified restorers have the knowledge and equipment to further dry a home or facility (including substructure materials) completely back to pre-loss conditions. Through timely response and the careful monitoring of water damage, mold and other health issues can be prevented. If water damage has been present too long, mold will occur.
Don’t delay!
All IICRC-certified professionals have the training and experience to identify moisture sources, evaluate mold growth (visible or suspected), contain damage, remove contamination and dry materials to ensure that mold will not return.¹
1-800 Water Damage employs certified professionals, ensuring your peace of mind.
